WNBA: Mercury and Sky to meet in WNBA Finals

The eastern conference champion Chicago Sky defeated the Indiana Fever in a thrilling 3 game series and advance to their first-ever WNBA finals.  They will face the western conference Phoenix Mercury, a team which features the WNBA Coach of the Year in Sandy Brondello, the defensive player of the year in Brittney Griner, and lets not forget they set a WNBA record for wins in a season with 29.

The Mercury’s playoff path to the finals went through defending champs Minnesota Lynx, who they defeated in best of 3 series.

The Sky will undoubtedly be the underdog when the finals begin on Sunday, but they have shown great resiliency this season in overcoming injuries and illness.

The Mercury are seeking their third WNBA Championship (2007, 2009).
