VIDEO Rewind: A chat with Nellie Biles, Mother of Olympian Simone Biles

We caught up with Nellie Biles at the Team USA media summit in Los Angeles, CA and asked her about her phenomenal daughter, Simone Biles, the most decorated gymnast in U.S. history.

Biles has dominated the sport ever since she began competing at the senior level in 2013 and has since won 11 national titles in total. After the U.S. championships in June, she became the first woman in more than 40 years to win four U.S. all-around titles in a row.

Biles has set a new standard for technical proficiency in gymnastics with her signature floor-routine move called “The Biles.” The double lay half-out and forward landing was originally devised to relieve pain from a bone spur in her ankle, Biles told Teen Vogue.
