ICE HOCKEY: Canada Defeats Team USA in OT to claim 2012 Women’s World Championship

2012, Gutterson Fieldhouse Burlington, VT, USA, Women’s Hockey World Championship, After a tough 9-2 lose last week to the defending champs team USA, CAN bounced back to beat USA in overtime 5-4.

Canada won gold at the world women’s hockey championship with a 5-4 overtime win over the U.S.

BURLINGTON – Caroline Ouellette knocked in her second goal of the game at 1:50 of overtime to give Canada a 5-4 win and the gold medal at the Women’s World Championship. It was another epic battle between the two superpowers of women’s hockey.

Switzerland rallied twice in the first, scored the only goal of the second, and poured it on in the third to win its first ever medal—a bronze—beating Finland, 6-2.
