ALICIA ‘SLICK’ ASHLEY TO MAKE HISTORY
Alicia “Slick” Ashley will be making history on January 19th, 2011 (postponed from the original January 13th date due to weather conditions), when she will become the first ever female boxer to headline a professional boxing card in NYC. This is a major feat for female sports, in general, and professional boxing in NYC, as a whole.
Nicknamed “Slick” for her graceful moves, fast punches and poise in the ring, the former professional dancer turned champion boxer is well known and respected for her unbridled passion, talent and influence. As a 3-time world champion, Alicia is looking forward to adding yet another chapter to her storied career.
In her 10-plus year pro career, this will be only Alicia’s 3rd time fighting in her hometown, so for it to be such a historical moment makes it even more special.
