Tennis Legend Serena Williams Gives Birth To First Child

Tennis superstar Serena Williams and her fiancé, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian welcomed their first child, a baby girl weighing  6 lbs., 13 oz. News of the birth was confirmed by sister Venus to ESPN moments before she stepped on the court at the U.S. Open.

“Obviously I’m super excited. Words can’t describe,” sister Venus told ESPN.

The 35-year-old tennis great has said she will return in time to defend her Australian Open title in January.  She is one victory away from tying Margaret Court‘s record of 24 Grand Slam singles titles.

 

The name has yet to be revealed by the couple, mom and baby are doing fine according to reports.
