On Saturday, June 24, 2017, the Indiana Fever retired Tamika Catchings’ No. 24 into the rafters of Bankers Life Fieldhouse, becoming the first player in Fever history to have her number retired.
Pacers Sports and Entertainment president Rick Fuson praised Tamika Catchings’ contributions to the franchise and the city of Indianapolis. Fuson said he appreciates Catchings’ dedication to one team and one state.
Catchings’ father, mother, and husband helped her raise the No. 24 banner into the rafters. There will never be another player Fever player to wear the number 24.
