SOCCER: USA defeats Costa Rica and qualify for the 2012 London Olympics

2012, Vancouver, Canada, FIFA Olympic Women’s Soccer Trials, Costa Rica applied some early pressure, but is wasn’t enough as Team USA is confirmed for the Olympics winning 3-0.

The U.S. WNT advances to its fifth straight Olympic Games after defeating Costa Rica 3-0 in the first semifinal of the CONCACAF Women’s Olympic Qualifying tournament.  Tobin Heath, Carli Lloyd and Alex Morgan each scored a goal.  The USA improves to 4-0-0 on the year, outscoring its opponents by a 34-0 margin.
