Sky Blue FC of New York/New Jersey’s 6th pick in the 2010 draft

 

Two-time Big East Defensive Player of the Year Brittany Taylor is selected by Sky Blue FC as the sixth overall pick in the 2010 Women’s Professional Soccer Draft.  Here are some facts about the UConn star:

  •  Played for the United States National Team at the U-17, U-20 and U-23 level
  • Won a Silver Medal at the 2007 Pan-Am Games with the U-20 side
  • Called up to the United States Full National Team camp in January 2010 at The Home Depot Center in Carson, California

Club:

  • Played in the W-League for Hudson Valley Quickstrike Lady Blues
  • Named 2009 W-League Defensive Player of the Year

College:

  • Two-time Big East Defensive Player of the Year while playing at the University of Connecticut
  • Received NSCAA and TopDrawerSoccer All-America honors her senior year
  • Selected to the Big East First Team, ECAC First Team, NSCAA All-Northeast Team, NEWISA All-New England First Team and Soccer America Second Team her senior year
  • Named to All-Big East Team three times
