With an impressive straight set win over No.7 seed Johanna Konta, Serena Williams advances to her 34th Grand Slam semifinal, her 8th at the Australian Open (7-0).

The 6-2, 6-3 victory gives Williams her 314th Major match win, most in the Open Era.  Williams, whose first serve suffered a bit, managed to produce 9 aces and produced 25 winners.

She will meet world No.79 Mirjana Lucic-Baroni on Thursday and holds a 2-0 head-to-head advantage over the Croatian, but both of their meetings were in 1998.
