With her advance to the Semifinals of the Roxy Pro France, two-time World Champion Carissa Moore (HAW) has overtaken Courtney Conlogue (USA) for the No. 1 spot on the Jeep Leaderboard.
Moore’s victory came over a formidable Nikki Van Dijk (AUS). Like most of the Quarterfinal heats, the faceoff between the two in-form surfers went down to the wire, with Van Dijk scoring a 9.07 in the final minutes. But Moore stuck to her game, showing refined rail-to-rail surfing for the heat win.
Conlogue, who was eliminated in Round 4 by defending event champion Tyler Wright (AUS), has one more contest in which she could win the World Championship. She and Moore have swapped the No. 1 spot after every contest since the Vans US Open in August. The Title race remains tight, but Moore has the momentum when the Target Maui Pro kicks off November 21.
