Rio 2016: U.S. Women’s Basketball team wins sixth consecutive Gold
Rio de Janeiro – Dominant is the one word to describe Team USA’s Women’s Basketball team. When it comes to winning Olympic gold, they stand head and shoulders above the competition. The U.S. women came to Rio with one goal in mind, win another gold. Mission accomplished. Capping off a very successful Rio run with a convincing 101-72 victory over Spain.
Diana Taurasi, who along with Tamika Catchings and Sue Bird each earned a fourth Olympic gold medal had this to say about the teams victory. “It’s pretty incredible. We had a goal to win the gold medal but there is something more to it than that,’’ she said. “It’s not about one person, one coach. It’s about how we can make this the best basketball team ever.” Let the conversation begin.
