Newark, NJ – Cappie Pondexter’s jumper bounced around before finally going through the net to give the home team a two point lead over the visiting Tulsa Shock (0-3) with 0.05 seconds left.
The Shock called timeout to set up one last play. That play, which was well drawn up and well executed, called for the inbounding player, Skylar Diggins, to go high-low. Glory Johnson found herself wide open at the basket, but her catch and shoot was a second late as the Liberty gained their first win of the season (1-1) in front of a raucous 7,532 fans.
