GIRLS BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS FINAL

Neptune 67, St. John Vianney 48

Neptune emerged as the best team in the state by beating Shore Conference foe St. John Vianney in the final game of the season.

The game was close through three quarters. Neptune grabbed a 22-12 lead after the first, but St. John Vianney came on strong to pull to within 29-26 at the half.

A 15-14 third quarter gave Neptune a 44-40 lead, and the Scarlet Fliers finished with a 23-8 surge to end it.

Shakeena Richardson (photo left) scored 20 points, Sehmonyeh Allen 18 and Chyna Golden 14 for Neptune.

For St. John Vianney, Katie O’Reilly scored 22 points and Missy Repoli 18
