LPGA: Kyu Jung Baek wins first-career LPGA Tour title

KLPGA Tour member Kyu Jung Baek of South Korea made her very first appearance in an LPGA Tour event this week at the KEB-HanaBank Championship and she made it a memorable one. Baek birdied the par 5 18th on the first sudden-death playoff hole to defeat fellow KLPGA Tour member In Gee Chun and five-time LPGA Tour winner Brittany Lincicome.  With her victory, Kyu Jung is projected to jump from No. 33 in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings to No. 13.  She becomes the sixth different Korean to win on Tour this season and joins Inbee Park, So Yeon Ryu, Mirim Lee, M.J. Hur, Hyo Joo Kim.  The 19-year old Baek has three victories this year on the Korean tour. She became the fourth teenager to win on the LPGA Tour this season joining Lexi Thompson, Lydia Ko and Hyo Joo Kim.

No. 2-ranked Inbee Park of South Korea shot a 67 to finish one stroke behind the leaders.
