CoCo Vandeweghe is through to her maiden Grand Slam semifinal after a masterclass performance against world No.7 Garbine Muguruza.

Coco Vandeweghe is on her way to her first Australian Open semi-final.
Her 6-4 6-0 victory is her third out of four meetings against the Spaniard, who was unable to combat the American’s power throughout the encounter.
The opening game was a sign of how the match would play out as the American piled the pressure on Muguruza, earning two break points that the Spaniard was able to save.
The seventh game of the set proved pivotal as the two players fought tooth and nail for every shot in a game that would ultimately last over 10 minutes. Vandeweghe eventually broke the Muguruza serve and quickly consolidated before taking the set 6-4.
The second set followed a similar pattern to the first, except Vandeweghe was able to take her chance and break in the opening game. (click here to continue match report)
