Clarissa Shields, perhaps the most celebrated female boxer in American history, will defend her World Boxing Council and International Boxing Federation super middleweight titles on the line against Tori Nelson on Friday, January 12 at the Turning Stone Resort in Verona, New York.
Nelson is 4-0 as a professional (with two knockouts) since winning her second Olympic gold medal in 2016. Nelson, who at 41 is 19 years older than Shields, is 17-0-3 as a pro with two knockouts.
Friday’s bout is scheduled for 10 two-minute rounds.
