All-American Girls Roster Revealed for 16th Annual Jordan Brand Classic

Beaverton, OR – Now in its 16th year, the Jordan Brand Classic, presented by American Family Insurance, has announced the All-American Girls Team for this year’s game. The All-American Girls game originated in 2014 with the support of Jordan Brand family member Maya Moore.

Tennessee leads this year’s group with the most recruits (4), followed by Connecticut with three.  Baylor, Stanford, Texas & USC each have two recruits in the game.

Leading the All-American charge is 2017 HoopGurlz recruiting ranked players:

1 – Megan Walker (UConn) – the 6-1 guard is considered “the complete package and the premier prospect in the class of 2017.”   (Olson) **member of the 2016 Team USA’s U18 National Team**

2- Evina Westbrook (Tennessee) – “an elite guard in the class of 2017.” (Olson) **member of the 2016 Team USA’s U18 National Team**

3 – Rellah Boothe (Texas) – “among the elite prospects in the class of 2017.” (Olson) **member of the 2016 Team USA’s U18 National Team**

4 – Chasity Patterson (Texas) – the 5’5″ power slick guard – “breaks down defender and finds (the) rim with regularity; anticipates, disrupts defenses; an elite guard in the class of 2017.” (Olson)

5 – Sidney Cooks (Michigan State) – shot blocking presence, mobility; an elite prospect in the class of 2017. (Olson) **member of the 2016 Team USA’s U18 National Team**

The 24 All-Americans will take the floor at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on Friday, April 14, 2017as part of a quadruple-header which will begin with the  Global Showcase featuring young athletes from around the world, followed by New York’s finest in a Regional game. The All-American Girls will hit the court next, followed by the All-American Boys game.
“We’re very excited to welcome this talented group of young women to our third All-American Girls Game at Barclays Center,” said Larry Miller, President of Jordan Brand. “As the women’s game continues to grow, we’re proud to host a first-class event for these top-tier athletes.”

The rosters for the Global and Regional Teams will be announced in March. The previously announced All-American Boys roster can be seen at JordanBrandClassic.com.
