2018 LPGA Season Approaching

The 2018 LPGA season will feature 34 events with the players competing for s record $68.75 million in purses. The new season will get underway in the Bahamas the week of January 25-28.

A total of 19 events will be played in the United States, including the U.S. Women’s Open, which is set for May 31-June 3 at Shoal Creek in Alabama. As usual, the first LPGA tournament on U.S. soil will be the Bank of Hope Founders Cup in Phoenix, March 15-18.

Piller Taking Maternity Leave

Three-time American Solheim Cup player Gerina Piller is on maternity leave and will miss the 2018 LPGA season. The 32-year old Piller is pregnant with her first child, who is due in May.

Piller has never won on the LPGA Tour but has won more than $3.5 million over the course of her career.

In addition to her three Solheim Cup appearances (2013, 15, 17), Piller represented the United States in both the Olympics and the International Crown.
